Friday 22nd October, 2010 I enjoyed a great night at the Sydney Entertainment Centre, reliving the hits of the 80s through The Bangles and Pat Benatar. Sure, I only around in the last 5 years of the 80s, but there is no denying the unique sounds of that era that still hold up well today. I love 80s music.
Following a last minute surprise upgrade to Row 4 from the stage, I was able to get some good photos again using my fairly ordinary compact Ricoh camera. How I wish I could have snuck in my DSLR with 300mm lens…
Back in May, I wrote a blog post with some tips for concert photography. I used the same post-editing techniques this time around too. It took about 1 hours work in Photoshop to get the images up to scratch as a result of not using a flash. Mainly played with the Gamma and Offset functions to blacken out the backgrounds that had a lot of image noise in them. A little bit of cloning was used to remove bits of equipment and guitar and microphone leads.
